A Storyteller’s Story

Nice to meet you! I’m Harleigh, a Digital Storyteller and a motion graphics artist specializing in videography with a background in computer art and animation. Striving to evoke emotions and reactions within an audience, from empathy to sadness, and from laughter to research, my work takes on the role of visually connecting audiences to ideas.

Growing up in South Louisiana, surrounded by oral storytellers, I learned the importance of sharing imaginative tales, thoughts, and the lives of the people that surround us.

In videography, I modify my filming and editing skills to best suit the needs of the visual story I am conveying. The essence of events are captured in fast-moving cuts and recorded with a willingness to blend into the background to film candid reactions and expressions, while interviews are slowed down with guiding questions and narrative editing, assembling clips out of order to portray a cohesive story.

As the Digital Storyteller – Videographer for Louisiana Tech University, I am dedicated to sharing the life and voices of the students, while highlighting the uniqueness of the university. As the head of the Communication’s video services, I have led and produced hundreds of videos for social media platforms, research grants, alumni and donor relations, and television broadcast.

When not holding my camera or editing on my computer, I can be found cooking savory Cajun food and baking sweet treats. I enjoy going on food dates with friends, playing pickleball, reading news articles and fiction books, talking to people in the same waiting line, watercolor painting, and oral story telling.
